Please complete and submit this form if you are seeking dispensation for state team selection on the basis you are unable to meet the qualification requirements as outlined in the TTQ Selection Policy for state team selection.
For any request for dispensation to be considered, this application must be submitted by or before the closing date for the relevant QLD Closed Championships being held in the same year a player is seeking dispensation for selection.
To be eligible for selection in a state team, the individual must achieve all of the following:
- Be in good financial standing with TTQ and registered at level 2;
- Compete in inter-association teams event at the relevant Queensland Closed Championships; the only exception to this will be if the player has nominated for the event but has not been placed in a team for the Championships. In this case, that player must participate in the relevant singles event at the championships.
- In the 24 months prior to the relevant QLD Closed Championships, players must have participated in a minimum of one TTQ sanctioned association open tournament located in and/or north of Rockhampton. (Note: for junior, youth and senior state team selection, this condition is to commence at the conclusion of the 2025 QLD Junior & Senior Closed Championships).
- In the 12 months prior to the relevant QLD Closed Championships, players must have participated in a minimum of one additional TTQ sanctioned association open tournament or the QLD Open Championships.
- Players must satisfy the conditions and requirements set down by Table Tennis Australia (TTA) in the TTA National Championships Regulations.
- Meet any age criteria as prescribed by TTA;
- Be available to participate in the whole Teams Event at the relevant Australian Championships;
- Have submitted the relevant State Team Nomination Form by the due date; and
- Meet any expectations to attend High Performance Training Camps and other preparation requirements.
Special dispensation in relation to the eligibility criteria (see selection policy) may be given at the discretion of the TTQ Board of Management. The request must be received in writing prior to the close of entries of the relevant state championships, or in the case of rankings, prior to 30 September of the year in which the ranking is requested. Valid reasons for not meeting these criteria may include, but are not limited to:
1. Representing Australia;
2. Serious illness or injury;
3. Participation in a national table tennis development program;
4. Examinations scheduled during the relevant state championships;
5. Death in the immediate family;
6. Catastrophic act of nature.
