We are excited that you are intersted in starting a RISE-UP chapter. Please follow these instructions to do so.
Chapter Approval Process
Students interested in chartering an undergraduate RISE-UP chapter on their campuses must identify at least eight individuals who are committed to the RISE-UP vision, mission, purposes, and goals.
Local Chapter Approval Process
Individuals interested in chartering a Local or Combined RISE-UP chapter in their local area must identify at least eight individuals who are committed to the RISE-UP vision, mission, purposes, and goals.
At least one formation meeting should be held, in which the local region is defined, chapter officers are established, a constitutions and bylaws are established, and minutes are taken. (Constitution Template). Constitution and Blyaws must not conflict with RISE-UP national constitution and bylaws. (RISE-UP Constitutionand Bylaws)
Identify a chapter advisor (Undergraduate Chapters only). The chapter advisor must be willing to pay the advisor dues to the national office.
The chapter secretary should submit the chapter application after all materials are completed.
An application for establishing a RISE-UP chapter must be submitted through the RISE-UP webpage. The application will be submitted as one PDF file. The application will include the following components
- Chapter application (This form)
- Constitution and bylaws,
- Advisor commitment form (Letter stating that the advisor supports the formation of the RISE-UP chapter and will work with students as an advisor) 250 words max.
- List of members
- Minutes for the first meeting
Upon receipt of an application for the formation of an Undergraduate RISE-UP chapter the application will be reviewed by the NSDT. Chapters with all submitted materials be approved by the recommendation of the NSDT and final approval by the Board of the L & Leola Educational Advancement Foundation non-profit. Upon approval chapters will be sent a chapter charter.
