Welcome to Pathways 2025 - Nuevas Fronteras!
Pathways 2025 will be held in Tijuana, Mexico and San Deigo, CA July 5-10th. Our time in Tijuana will be hosted and coordinated with Via International, a non-profit that works closely with the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. Our last day will include some time at the beach in San Diego, for teens to unwind and start to process the pilgrimage.
Chaperone Requirements:
Chaperones have perhaps the greatest impact on the Pathways experience for the youth in attendance. They are expected to set excellent examples in behavior and attitude as they provide safety for participants through diligent discipline regarding appropriate and healthy boundaries.
Chaperones should encourage the teens in full participation, help them process events, discern opportunities, and help bring their Pathways experience home in helpful ways. Chaperones are also responsible for tending to the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of the youth in the delegation.
Chaperones are responsible for conducting nightly room checks and for tending to behavior issues as needed. They are expected to participated in all activities of the pilgrimage.
The following requirements fulfill insurance liability guidelines, model policies for Safeguarding Minor Children, and are required for this pilgrimage.
- We are anticipating a total of 20 people on the pilgrimage -- this means 16-17 youth and 3-4 chaperones.
- All other chaperones must be 21 or older
- All chaperones must have passed a Criminal Sexual Background Check conducted by the local parish or diocese within 3 years of July 5, 2025. Chaperones must also have completed Safe Church Training in compliance within the last 3 years and within local diocesan policy. You must provide evidence of this, obtainable through the Office of the Bishop.
- Up-to-date childhood vaccinations are required for youth participants
- Chaperones must travel with the delegation to and from Pathways and comply to the same standards of behavior regarding our community covenant.
- A valid PASSPORT is requred for this trip.
