Who can apply?
Licensed teachers practicing in traditional public schools, private charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies, home schools, colleges and universities are encouraged to apply. This grant is for North Carolina teachers only. North Carolina Cooperative Extension personnel, PTO organizations, non-profit organizations, etc. are not eligible for this grant.
Deadlines
We award two cycles of grants. The deadline for the fall cycle is November 1, and the deadline for the spring cycle is April 1.
Directions - Please read carefully!
The grant proposal must relate directly to the agricultural industry in North Carolina. Further, your application must explain how the proposed project aligns with the NC Standard Course of Study, or appropriate educational standards for what you teach. It is important to answer each component of the application fully with a focus on how it furthers students' understanding of North Carolina's agricultural industry, paying close attention to what each question specifically asks. As a requirement of being awarded grant funding, you will be required to complete a grant summary survey which you will receive electronically from NCFB Ag in the Classroom within a year from the grant deadline. Once you have completed each question, please remember to SUBMIT your application. It is your responsibility to make sure your application was received by emailing heather.morton@ncfb.org. Please note that NCFB Ag in the Classroom will no longer accept faxed or emailed grant applications. You must complete the following online form to submit your application. If you are experiencing issues with this online form, please contact Heather Morton (heather.morton@ncfb.org). Each applicant may only submit one application per cycle. Winners may apply for new grants in subsequent cycles. Non-winners are welcome to reapply in subsequent cycles. This grant DOES NOT fund field trips, meals or events, and any associated costs or fees to field trips, meals or events. This grant DOES NOT fund salary compensation, personnel funding, or anything related to paying individuals or organizations for work, services or time.
