Steampunk NZ Festival 2025 "Circus in Time" Fashion Showcase Entry Form

Fashion Showcase Entries can be "curated" with bought and found items or "created" - sewn and hand made, or somewhere in between. 

Outfit Prizes will be awarded for: Men’s, Woman’s, Family/child, Judges choice, Supreme and The Peoples Choice awards.

Judging criteria - entries will be judged on the following:              Steampunk aesthetic: i.e. the costume must fit with in the Victorian aesthetic  Originality - Relationship to theme - Coherence of design - Workmanship       

Our esteemed panel of judges for 2025 bring a wealth of expertise to the table. From Simone Montgomery, costumer and milliner extraordinaire, to Yvonne Yates whose creativity and artistic flair means every detail will be scrutinized with precision. Joining this illustrious lineup is the infamous, Liz Van End, whose discerning eye for steampunk couture will ensure that the entrants are critiqued to the highest possible standard.

Hat Category - this year the Hat catgeory will be a static display of hats  - (limited places) Hats need to be delivered to the Scottish Hall  (The McKenzie Lounge) on Sunday 1 June between 10am and 11am. Hats may be collected again after the fashion Showcase.

Please note: The Hat category is a stand alone category. If you are wearing a hat as part of your outfit, the hat will not be judged separately. 

Entry requirements:

We have kept participants involvement as simple as possible to ensure you get to enjoy the rest of the weekend’s activities. We strongly encourage you to register in advance. There may not be available spots on the day. 

Entrants need to attend the registration and photo session at the Scottsh Hall (The McKenzie Lounge) on Sunday, 1 June between 10am and 11.00. You MUST be wearing the complete entry you intend to showcase. 

Entrants need to be at the Scottish Hall again by 1.pm for the show to start at 2pm. Please enter by the rear of the building to allow the audience access to the front of the hall.

In the interests of fairness there is no facility for any personalistion of music or lighting and each contestant has a limited amount of time on stage. By submitting an entry form participants agree to abide the rules and format of the fashion showcase and accept that deviating for this may result in their entry not being judged.
