  • NJQHA MISSION STATEMENT

    The name of this organization shall be New Jersey Quarter Horse Association, Inc. Its objective shall be to educate New Jersey Quarter Horse owners and to protect and maintain the integrity of the American Quarter Horse breed. To increase the number of NJ Quarter Horse Breeders and Owners registered by AQHA and to advance New Jersey to a leading Quarter Horse State. All proceeding of this association shall be in harmony with the policies and activities of AQHA.

    MEMBERSHIP AND DUES

    Membership shall commence as of January 1 (for applications received on or before January 1) and be effective through December 31. After January 1, membership will commence as of the date postmarked on the envelope. Membership received after September 30 shall be considered the next year’s membership

    RELEASE, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER, AND INDEMNIFICATION FORM

    Rider, Agent or Representative of each herein designated as the Exhibitor / participant / NJQHA Member / NJQHYA Member agrees to hold New Jersey Quarter Horse Association and / or the New Jersey Quarter Horse Youth Association and all of its officer, directors, employees and agents completely harmless and not liable and release them from all liability whatsoever and agrees not to sue them on account of or in connection with any claims, causes of action, damages, costs or expenses arising out of the Exhibitor’s use or presence upon the property being utilized and its facilities, including without limitation, those based on death, bodily injury, property damage, including consequential damages. The Exhibitor aggress to waive the protection offered by any statute or law in any jurisdiction whose purpose, substance and / or effect is to provide that a general release shall not extend to claims, material or otherwise, which the person giving the release does not know or suspect to exist at the time of executing the release. The exhibitor / participant/ NJQHA Member/ NJQHYA Member agrees to indemnify and defend New Jersey Quarter Horse Association / New Jersey Quarter Horse Youth Association and the land owner against and hold it harmless from any and all claims, causes of action, damages against and hold it harmless from any and all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including attorney’s fees which in any way arise from the Exhibitor’s / participant’s/ NJQHA Member/ NJQHYA Member use of or presence upon the property being utilized for this event “WARNING UNDER NEW JERSEY LAW, AN EQUESTRIAN AREA OPERATOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ANIMAL ACTIVIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ANIMAL ACTIVITES, PURSUANT TO P.L. 1997, c 287 (c.5:15‐1 et seq.).
