Presentations:

Depending on the event you will be asked  the following:

Participate in an online platform at a set date and time or to submit your presentation by a given deadline.

When asked to create a professional video for submission, a specific timeframe of the length will be given and we ask that you follow the listed best practices.

Best Practices:
Record in landscape orientation to avoid black bars.
Fill the frame with your subject or follow the rule of thirds for balance.
Avoid using digital zoom to maintain video quality.
Use natural lighting for clarity and warmth.
Avoid backlit settings to ensure you’re clearly visible.
Edit your video for a polished, professional look.

Rules of EngagementRegistration is Mandatory
-All participants must complete the registration process without exception.The registration confirms your membership in ICAN Talks.
-NON - registrations or incomplete registrations as a member of ICAN Talks will disqualify you from participating in the event.
Speech Timing
-Speeches are limited to 8 minutes.
-A chime will sound when you have 1 minute remaining. If you exceed this limit,   the moderator will politely interrupt to maintain the schedule.
Speaker Introductions
-Speaker introductions must be 150 words or less. You may submit an additional Bio. The longer version must be submitted in PDF format. The extended bio will be featured in the description box under your photo. However, during the event, all introductions will adhere to the 150-word maximum.
Speaking Order
-Speaking times will be assigned based on the order of registration.
-You will be informed of your speaking time well in advance.
Arrival Requirements
-While we encourage you to attend the entire event, you must be present at least 15 minutes before The speaking event.
-Doors will lock 10 minutes after the event begins and remain closed for the program's duration until after closing remarks and recording stops.
-Please stay for the closing remarks to participate in the group photo.
Mute Microphones
-All microphones must remain muted unless it is your designated speaking time.
Administrators will mute participants who are not scheduled to speak. This ensures courtesy to your peers and maintains the event's professionalism, as the event is being recorded.
-Only speak when called upon by the moderator.
Pre-Recorded Presentations
-Pre-recorded speeches must meet quality standards, including proper lighting, sound clarity, and background.
-Videos not meeting these standards may be edited to include only the audio with a photo or excluded entirely. Feedback will be provided if quality concerns arise.

The content, structure, and materials of our events are the intellectual property of ICAN Talks and its partners. Duplication, recording, or reproduction of any part of our events, in whole or in part, without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Presentation materials
• Recorded sessions
• Discussions and interactive elements

Unauthorized duplication or distribution of event content is a violation of copyright law and may be subject to legal action, including penalties and fines.

We value the integrity and uniqueness of our events and appreciate your understanding and cooperation in protecting this shared space.
