Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. —Ephesians 2:19-22

  • Your Commitment to Christ & His Church

We believe God calls each of us to be committed to a local church while serving the greater Kingdom. This commitment is about growing and serving together in community, moving from being a consumer to a disciple, and embracing the cause of Christ. In a world of individualism, it’s a declaration that you are not walking this road alone. Please prayerfully affirm your commitment to Worship, Connection, and Service...
  • Commitment One - To Worship

  • Commitment Two - To Connection

    • Acting in love towards others.
    • Participating in a Connection Group or another small group community.
    • Resolving conflict according to the principals found in Matthew 18.
  • Commitment Three - To Service

    • Humbly seeking to serve God and others more than being served myself.
    • Owning the vision and values of Columbia Grove Covenant Church.
    • Discovering and using my God-given gifts and passions to honor God.
    • Praying for Columbia Grove Covenant Church’s impact locally and globally.
    • Making friends with those in my everyday life who are not followers of Christ.
    • Inviting these friends into our community of faith.
    • Warmly welcoming guests at Columbia Grove Covenant Church.
    • Investing my time, my gifts and my resources in the mission of this church.
  • Faith In Jesus Is Personal, But Not Private

Even though you may answer yes to the previous statements, we join with other evangelical churches in requiring personal faith in Jesus Christ as a condition of membership. This means that you have committed your life to Jesus Christ, asking him to forgive your sins and give you the new life he offers. It means admitting that you fall short of God’s standard (Romans 3:23). It means that you have a growing desire to live for Christ each day, however difficult it may be at times. Some Christians are able to identify a time of conversion, others will say it happened over a period of time. What is essential is that you know you have committed to follow Jesus Christ. If you’ve not done so before now, this is your chance to make this decision known to others.

  • How Goes Your Walk?

The section below may be filled in advance or talked through during your interview.
  • Jesus called people from all walks of life—Matthew the Tax Collector (Matthew 9:9), Paul the Pharisee (Acts 9), and Mary Magdalene, freed from demons (Luke 8:2). Though they started in different places, their lives were transformed by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, which shaped their worship, worldview, and way of living.

As we follow Jesus together, we aim to support one another in discipleship through worship, connection, and service. We offer ourselves to Him for transformation through renewing our minds (Romans 12:1-2). We stay connected through His Word for fruitful lives (John 15:5-7), and seek the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). We put off old ways, embracing our new identity in Christ (Colossians 3:1-17), and live in biblical community (John 13:34-35).
