Submitting the enrollment form early will also ensure you will not miss email updates and announcements pertaining to HUSI 2025. We ask all prospective HUSI students to submit this form, even if you do not plan to apply for the HUSI Scholarship from HURI.

  • On-Campus Housing

PLEASE NOTE: Students will need to request on-campus housing directly from Harvard Summer School. Please be mindful of the associated deadlines >> https://summer.harvard.edu/
  • Visa Sponsorship and International Student Guidelines

PLEASE NOTE: Students are responsible for requesting visa sponsorship directly from Harvard Summer School. Please be mindful of the associated deadlines and requirements for international students >> https://summer.harvard.edu/adult-college-students/course-registration/international-student-registration/
  • English Language Proficiency (ELP) Requirement

If your native language is not English, the Harvard Summer School (HSS) requires you to submit proof of English Language Proficiency (ELP) before you will be allowed to register for courses or request a visa. Please note that this is a HSS requirement, so HSS should be contacted with any questions and all english proficiency documentation should be submitted to HSS directly: proficiency@summer.harvard.edu

Please carefully review the deadlines and requirements in advance: https://summer.harvard.edu/adult-college-students/course-registration/english-proficiency-requirement/

In many cases, HURI awards scholarships to students who are unable to accept the funding or participate in HUSI because they do not meet this requirement on time. For students who need a visa, the final deadline to submit your ELP documents is April 14th. However, student documentation is sometimes rejected, so we recommend that students submit their documentation for review as soon as possible and no later than April 1st.

  • NEXT STEPS:

    1) Apply for the HUSI Scholarship from HURI (deadline is 13 Feb 2025) and/or other sources of funding, if needed.

    2) Create a Harvard Summer School "MyDCE Student Account" ASAP

    3) Complete Harvard Summer School Pre-Registration ASAP: upload required information and documentation. For non-natvie English speakers, you will need to provide proof of English Language Proficiency. You will not be able to register for classes or request a visa until HSS approves this documentation. The final deadline is April 14th.

    3) Register by adding a course or courses to your cart and submitting it.

    4) Review payment, housing, and visa information, requirements, and deadlines: https://summer.harvard.edu/

    5) See you in June!

*All eligible students who plan to apply for a HUSI Scholarship from HURI and register for "Ukrainian for Reading Knowledge" or "Intensive Elementary Ukrainian" MUST also apply for a Summer FLAS Fellowship from the Davis Center at Harvard. The application is due in early-mid February each year.

*Harvard Extension School students, enrolled in a degree program, who plan to apply for a HUSI Scholarship from HURI MUST also apply financial aid from HES. The application is usually due in early March.

Please do not hesitate to contact HURI Programs Coordinator, Megan Duncan Smith at duncansmith@fas.harvard.edu, with any questions.
