Visual Arts Mississauga invites GTHA artists ages 18-29 years old to submit to its annual exhibition Shifting Forms (formally known as Now Streaming). VAM will host artists working in experimental processes using a combination of traditional and new media. This Juried show is limited to 75 applications.

This year’s exhibition will be co-curated by VAM’s Creative Residents (VCR) and exhibiting artists will be juried for First, Second, and Third Place prizes.

Entrants juried with prizes awarded.

Application Fee: $12.00 CAD

Terms of Entry

Please read carefully to ensure all criteria is met
- Open to artists 18-29 years old (post-secondary students and recent graduates) may submit images of current artwork for consideration
- Artists may submit 1 work demonstrating use of traditional and new media
- All work submitted for consideration must be original and recent from 2022-present
- Submissions may be:
  a) 2-dimensional – painting, drawing etc.
  b) 3-dimensional – sculpture, installation
  c) multimedia – experimental or new media work is highly encouraged
- Submissions must be submitted by JotForm. Email submissions will not be accepted.
- Please label all attached files following the format:
  First Name,Last Name_Artwork Title
  
  Please submit the following with the entry form:
  
  1. CV, Artist Statement, and Biography.
  
  2. Description of the installation, if needed. This will be used as a reference for the VCR members to curate the work in the VAM Gallery. Please note, due to limitations in the gallery, work will be on display as close to install notes as possible.
  
  3. Up to 3 JPG images (300 dpi) of submitted artwork. 1 minute of video may be substituted for one image. Please send a web link for video submissions via Vimeo, Youtube, website etc.
- All sales of artwork will be arranged by the artists with the assistance of VAM. Visual Arts Mississauga does not take a commission on artwork sold in the Shifting Forms exhibition.
Awards
All participants are eligble for a prize
- Prizes include:
- First Place: $125 e-transfer, $25 DeSerres Gift Card and a one-week exhibition at VAM (Value of $250)
- Second Place: $100 e-transfer, $25 DeSerres Gift Card
- Third Place: $75 e-transfer, $25 DeSerres Gift Card
