Introduction

At its core, the Crush it Crusade (CIC) is more than recycling. It's about building a movement around sustainable materials management--one that's people-powered, community-driven and relentlessly optimistic. With the continued support of The Ball Foundation, Can'd Aid and its CIC grant recipient partners are proving that collective action can lead to big change--one can, one volunteer, one event, and one community at a time.

Grant awards will be prioritized for organizations that:

Are striving to expand recycling (and composting) efforts at established large public-facing community events, and/or for a comparably sized series of public-facing seasonal events (e.g. music, sports, cultural, food and arts festivals)
Demonstrate a strong commitment to recycling with sufficient resources and capacity to sustain their recycling program in future years
Demonstrate effective volunteer engagement
Promote inclusive community outreach
