Greetings from the Omaha Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. We are excited to offer you the opportunity to apply for our Jewel B. Robinson/Beatrice Mosley Scholarship.
Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. is a private non-profit organization, founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. is a sisterhood of predominately black, college educated women. The sorority currently has more than 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located worldwide. Since its founding more than 350,000 women has joined our organization.
The Omaha Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. has been serving the Omaha metropolitan community for over 70 years and issues merit and need based educational scholarships to deserving college and college bound students. In addition, Omaha Alumnae offers established programs in the Omaha community based upon the organizations Five-Point Programmatic thrust addressing education, physical and mental health, international development, economic development, political awareness and involvement, economic development.
This Application for our Jewel B. Robinson Scholarship/Beatrice Mosley Scholarship focuses on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) college and college bound young ladies to assist with advancing their education.
This scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors and college students who will continue in an undergraduate program in the fall. For full consideration, please ensure to apply by March 15, 2026 and that the following apply to you:
1. You are a female.
2. You are a United States Citizen with the ability to provide proof of citizenship, if requested.
3. You are a permanent resident of the greater Omaha area (Douglas, Sarpy and Washington Counties).
4. You are or will attend a two or four-year college or university and will not be graduating from college prior to Fall 2026.
5. You currently have a minimum GPA of 2.75 or greater.
6. You must submit and answer the following essay question: What are your key goals and/or life aspirations?
7. One "typed" letter of recommendation from a school or community reference.
8. Your reference should include the length this person has known you, three key attributes they see in you, and why they feel you should be awarded this scholarship. All letters must have an original signature.
9. If awarded a scholarship, no later than October 1, 2026 the awardee must provide "proof of enrollment" from the college or university, the address to the financial office, and the awardee's student ID number assigned by the school before any amounts are disbursed to the award recipient’s school.
10. Please note that Omaha Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta reserves the right to reject, deny or withdraw this any scholarship application at its sole discretion. Applications submitted without the above-mentioned required information and after the deadline will be disqualified.
