Saturday April 26th OR Sunday April 27th matinee performances with technical rehearsals in the morning prior to performance. Applicants performance date will be determined upon successful results.
Festival and Call Details

Aeris Körper is proud to present the second annual Here&Now Dance Festival in Hamilton, Ontario. This is a call for the Prospects series. Entering it's second year, Here&Now will feature a mixed program of three finished works, a workshop and the Prospects series. Prospects is a signature Aeris Körper event that invites choreographers to present works-in-progress, and then pose three questions to the audience with the guidance of a discussion facilitator. Audience offers insights to their experiences and the questions the choreographers posed. Aeris Körper aims to support the choreographer in a key phase of their creative process, gaining understanding of what their choreography is conveying and equipping them for the next phase of creation with understanding of possible audience interpretations. All choreographers and performing/collaborating artists are required to stay for the duration of the Prospects event in support of the other presented works. The format of the evening is subject to change based on the presenter's needed.
Eligibility

Choreographers MUST identify as a Hamilton choreographer. We understand our relationship to land/location is fraught so we aim to support your self identification of your relationship to being a choreographer who represents, serves, studies, trains, works and/or lives in Hamilton. Choreographic works must be either proposed new works OR has a specific element/section/goal that is new and needing feedback and development on. All dance or movement-based artists and performers are encouraged to apply.
Location and Technical Set Up

The performance will be presented live in-person at the Lyons Family Studio Theatre on McMaster University Campus (L. R. Wilson Hall, 1280 Main St W, Hamilton.) This is a black box studio space with masonite flooring. Prospects is a lights up and lights down event; a technician is provided to play music and bring lights up and down but no other technical needs can be provided. While the theatre is a typical proscenium dance space, we welcome utilizing the space in alternative ways. If you envision this in your work, please note it in your application your intentions and potential needs of support for this.
Requirements

#1 Proposed choreography must be within the time range of 4-25 minutes in length. Choreographers are responsible for contracting personnel required to complete their proposed choreography. #2 Presented choreographers will provide three questions to pose to the audience to the discussion facilitator. Questions that are specific to your work and your curiosities are the most impactful. #3 Presented choreographers will need to provide promotional materials if successful: materials required will likely include 1 headshot, 100 word bio, 3 additional images. All items will have set deadlines that choreographers are notified of in advance. #4 Presented choreographers will also be asked to submit a Creative Process Blog (see examples via Aeris Körper's blog Curiosities: https://aeriskorper.com/curiosities) to provide insight on your creative process. #5 There will be a Choreographer's Meet and Greet scheduled prior to the show - this is a time for all presenting choreographers and the production team to get to know one another. Depending on successful applications, this may occur in person or online. It is not mandatory but is highly recommended!
Renumeration

Choreographers will be offered a $500 honorarium, plus applicable taxes if eligible.
