The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program is designed to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. This course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person when minutes matter, and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA, workplace, or other regulatory requirements.
This course includes a 2-year CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Participants will learn:
- Basic life-saving training including CPR, the use of an AED, and the relief of
choking for victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric
(infants and children up to 12 years of age).
- How to care for injured or ill adults and children in a variety of settings, including
soft tissue injuries, muscle and bone injuries, burns, sudden illness, and
environmental emergencies.
The goal of this skills-based training is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond in a medical emergency.
To achieve certification, participants must score 80% or better on the written exam and demonstrate all knowledge and skill objectives. Upon completion of course, participants will be issued the following certifications: Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid. All certifications are valid for two years. Must be 15 to receive certification.
