The LEO Golf Academy along with the Black College Golf Coaches Association (BCGCA), the City of Montgomery and Montgomery Park and Recreation will be hosting the LEGACY Golf Championship in the city of Montgomery. The Legacy Golf Championship is a premier golf tournament featuring a diverse group of junior and collegiate golfers from across the country. The 5-day event (June 14-18, 2025) will begin with a qualifying round and end with a 54-hole stroke play golf championship. Lagoon Park, which was named one of the Top 100 courses in Alabama by Golf Digest, offers players tree-lined fairways and a serene atmosphere. Our goal is to provide a venue that creates invaluable opportunities for junior golfers to showcase their skills and network with the college coaches that will be in attendance. This event will also provide an avenue for collegiate players to gain World Amateur Golf Rankings. The uniqueness of the LGC will stem from the extra activities incorporated into the daily schedule, providing an opportunity for the players and their families to learn about Montgomery’s rich history as the “Birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement.” Participants will also be given access to activities, local museums and the Montgomery Whitewater, enriching their experience both on and off the course.
