With Full Medical Direction and a roster of over 200 National Registry, experienced EMTs, paramedics, and RNs from across the nation, we can deploy quickly and efficiently wherever we are needed.

    Understanding the application process:

    1. Complete your personal information
    2. Complete the Preliminary Qualification Questionaire
    3. Review the Basic Requirements
    4. Review the included document:"Essential Functions and Work Conditions of a Wildland EMS Provider". You can download a copy for your files. If you have questions, contact hr@wildernessmedics.com. If you understand and have the capabilities necessary to function as a Wildland Fire EMS provider, complete the attestation.
    5. Complete the Additional Interests and/or Qualifications section
    6. Review the required documents list. If you already have the required documents, you will be asked to upload them in the document upload portal.
      • If you do not yet hold the required certifications, there is a downloadable document, "Wildland Fire Course Completion Guide", to help you identify and access the online courses as well as links to resources for phyisical classes. This is not a complete list of resourses avalable to you in your local area. When you have completed the required course work, return to this form and complete the application. You can "SAVE" this application at any time, you will be asked for your email and a link will be sent to you to complete it when you are ready.

      • This application will not be processed further until the minimum documents are uploaded. (not including the annual RT-130, AWCT, or a scheduled S-130 Field Day)
      • If you anticipate that you have a need for training or training information, fill out and submit the "Training information Mailing List" form.
    7. Complete the "Other Interests and Experience" Questionaire.
    8. Review the Minimum Document set and upload the required documents
    9. Upload your Resume and optional Cover Letter 
    10. Carefully review the application disclosure statement and agree to this Application's Terms and Conditions
    11. Submit the applcation.
    12. Your application will then be reviewed. If our team needs addtional information to process the application, they will reach out to you. Once your application has been approved, you will receive a link via email to schedule a 20 minute online interview with our hiring manager, Justin Spears.
    13. After your interview, upon Justin's approval for you to move forward in our onboarding process, you will recieve a link to our Annual Onboarding and Training Application in which we will provide you with additional company information and collect the documents necessary for the company to proceed with a motor vehicle report and a background check.
    14. There are annual requirements for the RT-130 and the AWCT (Arduous work capacity test) that must be completed. Complete them on your own, utilizing a qualified provider, or attend a company training events. These should be completed during the first few months of the New Year in order for your certifications to be verified in time for you to be included on our active roster for the upcomming fire season.
    15. Wilderness Medics, Inc also requires that you submit a current DOT phyisical card prior to being deployable.

  • Preliminary Qualification Questionaire

  • If you do not have a minimum of 1 year experiene, we will not be able to process your application. We do encourage you to get in touch with us after you do meet this qualification. Additionally, you should continue to work on the associated minimum requirements and complete the necessary wildland fire online courses so that you are prepared to apply when you gain the required experience.

  • if you answered yes to the question regarding disciplinary actions brought against you in connection with medical care rendered, please be prepared, at the time of your interview, to discuss the matter in order to assist the company in determining if this matter has an impact on you current eligibility for hire as an EMS provider.

  • Basic Requirements

    Wildland Fire EMS
  • BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • Current State EMS License
    • A minimum of one years recent patient care experience in a pre-hospital setting within your scope of practice
    • CPR certificate
    • ACLS certificate (Paramedics only)
    • Basic Wildland Firefighting courses – S-130, S-190, L-180
    • Disaster Response Courses – IS-100, IS-200, IS-700
    • Arduous Work Capacity Test
    • RT-130 Wildland Refresher
    • Capable of working in an austere environment
    • Good driving record
  • You will not be able to submit this application if you have not complete the listed classes.  All of them except the S-130 Field day, RT-130 and the AWCT can be completed online. Please save this application and return to complete and submit it when you are ready.

  • Please download, save, and thourougly review the following document that describes the essential functions and work conditions of a wildland fire EMS provider. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these requirements, please contact hr@wildernessmedics.com .
