The St. Johns Cultural Council would like to partner with St. Johns County cultural and arts professionals in a new series, Pathways: A Career in the Arts.
The series highlights local professionals who have navigated their career paths in the arts and are looking to pass on their knowledge and experiences to student and emerging artists. This free quarterly event will take place during the day at the Waterworks in St. Augustine.
Depending on the craft (fine art, theatre, dance, songwriting, etc.), the goal is to offer a demonstration with a question-and-answer portion. This format can be flexible and could enter the realm of a ted talk for professionals wish to refrain from a demo portion.
We're seeking industry professionals who can offer technique, storytelling, and career insight to attract artists and the general public.
A stipend up to $200 will be offered for your time and insights into your craft. There will also be the opportunity to bring awareness to your organization or business thruought the event. In addition to promotional materials created by the SJCC staff made available for personal use.
Each artist can decide if they would like to offer their work available for purchase immediately following the demo(i.e., books, film, small artwork, workshops, etc.)
Please note that this is a rolling application. Unfortunately, not all professionals will be guaranteed an opportunity to participate in the series.
