National Officer Candidate Application
As a National Officer Candidate, I acknowledge that I meet the following criteria:*

Currently an active member in an affiliated chapter and has been an active member in good standing for at least one year; must be an affiliated member by February 1, 2026.A minimum of one year of Family and Consumer Sciences classes; the courses must be verified on an official middle school and/or secondary transcript.Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for the three previous semesters.Not a present or former member of the National Executive Council.
As a National Officer Candidate, I acknowledge that I understand these policies related to the selection process:*

The state association may nominate two national officer candidates.The National Officer Candidate(s) shall not serve on the State Officer Team. If elected to a National Office, the officer will serve on the National Executive Council. A National Officer Candidate who is not elected to the National Executive Council will not serve as a State Officer.A student may apply for both a State Peer Officer Team (SPOT) and as a National Officer Candidate (NOC). When this situation occurs the State Adviser shall contact the student prior to State Leadership Conference for a written statement of preference should they be selected to both positions.National Officer Candidate(s) not elected to serve on the National Executive Council will become a Leadership Liaison for Nebraska FCCLA, if they so choose. The Leadership Liaison will have the opportunity to present session(s) at the Fall Leadership Conferences and District Leadership Conference(s). The Leadership Liaison will work closely with the State Adviser to determine the best way to remain an active leader for the state association.An FCCLA Resume is to be submitted with the application.Two (2) Recommendation Letters are to be completed. One must be completed by the candidate’s chapter adviser and the other by an adult school staff member familiar with the candidate’s qualifications. If the candidate’s chapter adviser is also their parent, select another adult school representative to complete the recommendation letter.Candidates must attend the State Officer Candidate Screening Day scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 9:00am-4:00pm at ESU 10 in Kearney.The top four (4) candidates advancing to the Voting Delegate Election are required to attend the State Leadership Conference March 29-31, 2026 in Lincoln.
If selected as a Nebraska FCCLA National Officer Candidate, I acknowledge that I will be REQUIRED to attend the following event (for its entirety):*

National Leadership Conference - July 5-10, 2026 in Washington D.C.

Recommendation Letters
Two (2) Recommendation Letters are to be completed as part of the application process.

One (1) must be completed by the candidate’s chapter adviser. If the candidate’s chapter adviser is also their parent, select another adult school representative to complete the recommendation letter.

One (1) must be completed by an adult school staff member familiar with the candidate’s qualifications.

Recommendation Letters should be sent directly from the person writing it to Abby Fiske, State Officer Coordinator, at afiske@nebraskafccla.org.
