Event Rules & Conditions:
- The Co-op provides this community space for Co-op owners to host events, talks, workshops, etc. that the Co-op deems in alignment with our Mission, Vision and Values. This means that the space is dedicated to helping people live in ways that are ecologically sustainable and that promote personal health and well-being
- Maximum room capacity is 18 persons
- The hours of availability are Tuesday through Friday 5pm to 8pm, and Saturday from 10am to 2pm
- This space is NOT for promoting products or services for personal profit
- The Community Room cannot be used for any political or religious events
- Use of the Community Room is non-transferable
- No user of the Community Room shall imply or represent in any way that their event is sponsored by the Co-op
- You are responsible for promoting your event. In some cases where an event is booked with enough lead-time, we may include your event in our monthly newsletter. This is not guaranteed.
Additional Guidelines:
- No outside food or drink is allowed at the event (food and drink can be served/consumed if purchased from the Co-op floor and/or Deli)
- No alcohol can be served or consumed in the Community Room
- No outside products are allowed at the event (example: if hosting a talk about vitamins, the vitamins must be a product we carry at the Co-op)
- Hosts are not allowed to remove any existing art or photographs from the Community Room walls
- Hosts are required to leave the room as they found it
- We ask that both event organizers and event attendees do not park in the Co-op parking lot. It is the host's responsibility to communicate this information to attendees prior to the event itself and at the start of the event
Thank you for your responsible use of this community resource. Ocean Beach People's Food Co-op reserves the right to ask any Owner to leave if they are in violation of the conditions and responsibilities outlined in this policy, or if the Owner's activities pose a threat to the safety of shoppers or are in violation of the law.
You agree to not hold Ocean Beach People's Food Co-op responsible or liable for any damage, loss or destruction of property or injuries to any persons. Any claims for such loss, damage, or injury are waived by signing this agreement. You agree to accept responsibility for any damage occurring to the Ocean Beach People's Community Room or its contents during use or as a result of such use, and will bear the full cost of repair, including replacement, if necessary.
