To be considered a FINISHER of the Gold's Gym Challenge, you must:
1. Do your BEFORE and AFTER InBody scans at the gym on your designated start/finish dates.
2. Submit your "My Challenge Experience" questionnaire within 2 days of your AFTER scan.
What is the "My Challenge Experience" questionnaire?
The "My Challenge Experience" questionnaire is a reflection tool completed at the end of the Gold’s Gym Challenge. Instead of a traditional essay, participants answer a series of thought-provoking questions about their journey, progress, and personal growth throughout the 12-week challenge.
This questionnaire provides valuable insight into your experience beyond the numbers, helping judges understand the impact the challenge has had on your life. It’s especially helpful in highlighting the inner transformations that may not be fully captured by body composition changes alone. In the event of a tie, your responses can play a key role in determining the final winners.
How are the Challenge WINNERS chosen?
A panel of judges will evaluate participant FINISHERS based on measurable changes in body composition, focusing on the percentage change in two key markers from the InBody scans: Dry Lean Mass and Body Fat Mass. This is not a weight-loss contest—it’s about achieving a holistic transformation as measured by these two metrics.
To maximize your chances of winning, aim to increase muscle mass by incorporating resistance training into your routine rather than relying solely on cardio. Additionally, reduce fat mass by adopting healthy lifestyle habits, including prioritizing balanced exercise, nutrition, and quality sleep.
In the event of a tie based on InBody metrics, winners will be determined through a review of the My Challenger Experience Questionnaire, where participants share insights into their personal journey, progress, and how the challenge has impacted their lives. These reflections provide a deeper understanding of each individual’s transformation and help judges make final decisions.
By combining objective data with personal experiences, the selection process ensures that winners represent the most inspiring and impactful transformations, truly showcasing change from the inside out.
How much money can I win as a Challenge winner?
A $15,000 cash pot will be divided across a variety of divisions. Gold's Gym Challenge participants must be 18 or older. In addition to invidividual male and female age categories, 2026 will feature optional 2-person team divisions, a great way to partner with a friend, spouse, or loved one to keep each other motivated!
Participants may compete in both individual and/or team divisions as follows:
1. Individual male: Age categories - 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. $79 individual entry fee. Money divided between top 1 to 4 finishers in each category, depending on # of finishers and overall results.
2. Individual female: Age categories - 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. $79 individual entry fee. Money divided between top 1 to 4 finishers in each category, depending on # of finishers and overall results.
3. Team (2 people): 2 males, any age (18+). $79 entry fee shared by two people. You must have your own two person team. Money awarded to top ONE team.
4. Team (2 people): 2 females, any age (18+). $79 entry fee shared by two people. You must have your own two person team. Money awarded to top ONE team.
5. Team (2 people): 1 male and 1 female, any age (18+). $79 entry fee shared by two people. You must have your own two person team. Money awarded to top ONE team.
6. Gold's Gym Newburgh & Middletown EMPLOYEES are also encouraged to participate in their own company based Challenge with prize money awarded based on employee participation levels in each of the aforementioned categories. Additionally, a new coveted trophy will be awarded to Gold's Gym Newburgh or Middletown employees who achieve the best overall results!
If I was a Gold's Gym Challenge money winner in the past, can I win again?
Yes, you can! This year’s challenge is different than year's past. It is focused on creating sustainable healthy habits and achieving transformative results from the inside out. It’s all about building a healthier, stronger version of yourself through measurable progress.
Do I have to follow a specific strategy when doing the Challenge?
No, there is no one-size-fits-all strategy for the Challenge. Your 12-week journey is a personal experience designed to help you achieve a transformation that goes beyond physical appearance. The goal is to improve your health, strength, and overall well-being from the inside out.
You have the freedom to approach the Challenge in a way that aligns with your goals and lifestyle. Whether you choose to go at it alone or take advantage of the resources included with your Challenge sign-up, the focus is on creating sustainable change.

Will I get copies of my before/after InBody scan?
Yes! We highly recommend downloading the InBody app to access your scan results quickly and easily. The app not only provides a detailed breakdown of your body composition but also tracks your progress in real time, giving you valuable insights into your transformation journey.
An added bonus? The app syncs with any InBody device, so if you do additional scans at other locations, all your results will be conveniently stored in one place. It's the most efficient way to stay on top of your progress—no emails to manage or misplace!
Upon request, we can email your starting and finishing scan results, but the InBody app is the best way to maximize your experience.
Please Note: You are scanned ONE time only at the start and finish of your Challenge. No exceptions. We will not be taking before/after photos for judging purposes. However, you are welcome to take your own photos outside the gym using a personal camera or phone if you'd like to track your visual progress.
