    The holidays can be a complex time—filled with joy for some, but also bringing loneliness, longing, or mixed emotions for others. Whether you’re traveling or staying put, celebrating or not, we warmly invite all queer folks and allies to the Coastal Queers Potluck.

    We are honored to gather on the traditional and unceded territory of the ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ First Nation, and to host this event in collaboration with ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ community members. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to share a meal in this beautiful place and come together in the spirit of connection and care.

  • Community Code of Conduct

    To create a space that is safe, joyful, and inclusive for all, we ask everyone to follow these simple guidelines:

     

    • Respect Identities: Use correct names and pronouns and avoid gendered language like “ladies and gentlemen”, etc. If you’re unsure, ask kindly or use neutral language like “they/them.”
    • Practice Consent: Ask before touching or taking photos, and respect personal space and boundaries.
    • No Hate, No Harm: Discrimination, harassment, or hateful language will not be tolerated. Be kind and mindful of your words and actions.
    • Listen and Learn: Be open to hearing new perspectives. This is a space to center queer folks while coming together as a larger community.
    • Take Responsibility: If someone shares that your words or actions have caused harm, listen without defensiveness and seek to make it right.

    This event is about connection, celebration, and community. Let’s build something beautiful together. Thank you for helping us create a space where everyone feels valued and safe

    • There are 3 washrooms including 1 accessible bathroom
    • The venue is wheelchair accessible
    • The organizers of this event are committed to using gender-neutral language, and participants are encouraged to use gender-neutral language

    • Parking for this event is available (please park out front or to the side of the venue - wheelchair parking available)
    • We respect folks choice to wear a mask - please stay home if you feel sick to help keep everyone healthy
    • This is a sober event
    • There are carpooling options available from Tofino and Ucluelet 

    Potluck Information

    If you can, please bring a dish to share - whether it’s homemade or store-bought, everything is welcome! If you’re bringing something homemade, kindly label it with the ingredients to help those with allergies or dietary restrictions.

    To reduce waste, please bring your own plate, bowl, mug, and cutlery. Don’t forget a container for leftovers! There will be a few spare dishes for those unable to bring their own.
