• APPLICATION:CUNY HSI Young Scholars Institute on Civic Engagement & Leadership Development

    • The CUNY Haitian Studies Institute invites New York City Youth (18 to 24 years old)to apply for its Young Scholars Institute on Civic Engagement & Leadership Development. Applicants can be high schoolers and college students. Accepted participants will each receive a stipend of up to $1500 at the end of the completion of the program. PROGRAM CRITERIA High School or College Students (ages 18-24) A minimum of a 2.5 GPA (75% or C) A COMPLETE APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE Application Form A one-page resume A 500-word double-spaced application essay in English or Haitian Creole Letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, advisor, counselor, religious, community, or employer. Commit to attend program dates: July 7, 2025- July 24, 2025

    To fully benefit from the Summer Institute for Leadership Development and Civic Engagement, we ask that students commit to being fully available throughout the program ( July 7, 2025- July 24, 2025). Active participation is essential to gaining the knowledge and skills the program offers, and we want to ensure that each participant maximizes their experience.
