WHAT IT MEANS TO HOST A WORKSHOP HERE
The Monastery AZ is a gallery and event space in the arts district of downtown Peoria, built for creative exploration and community.
When you host a workshop here, you are stepping into our mission.
We are not looking for perfection.
We are looking for intention, clarity, and a willingness to engage people beyond the surface.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
We handle the foundation so you can focus on the experience.
- A curated, art-centered venue
- Marketing support and promotional assets
- Ticketing and sales management
- Access to our growing creative community
ARTIST RESPONSIBILITIES
As a facilitator, you are responsible for:

- Leading and engaging the group throughout the session
This is your space to lead. We expect you to own it
PARTICIPATION EXPECTATIONS
- Ideal group size: 15 to 20 participants*
- Minimum required: 10 participants (generally)
If the minimum is not met, the workshop may be canceled or rescheduled.
*Larger group sizes may be accommodated and considered based on project, venue requirements, and space availability.
THE WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE
We ask all facilitators to follow a general structure to create a consistent and meaningful experience:
- Artist Introduction: Share your story, your work, and your perspective.
- Project Overview: Clearly explain what participants will create.
- Demonstration: Walk through the process with a sample or example.
- Guided Creation: Give participants the space and support to create.
- Engagement & Conversation: Use prompts, questions, and interaction to build connection.
This is what transforms a workshop from a task into an experience.
We will provide optional prompts to help guide this.
