TMAZ Workshop Proposal
  • About The Monastery AZ

  • At The Monastery AZ, we believe creativity is more than expression. It’s a way of gathering, grounding, and reconnecting.

Our workshops are not just classes. They are shared experiences designed to bring people into deeper connection with their creativity, with each other, and with the moment.

If you’re here, it means you’re not just teaching something. You’re creating a space people will remember.

BEFORE SUBMITTING your proposal please review our Workshop Guidelines on the following page.

WHAT IT MEANS TO HOST A WORKSHOP HERE

The Monastery AZ is a gallery and event space in the arts district of downtown Peoria, built for creative exploration and community.

When you host a workshop here, you are stepping into our mission.

We are not looking for perfection.
We are looking for intention, clarity, and a willingness to engage people beyond the surface.

    WHAT WE PROVIDE

We handle the foundation so you can focus on the experience.

    • A curated, art-centered venue
    • Marketing support and promotional assets
    • Ticketing and sales management
    • Access to our growing creative community

    ARTIST RESPONSIBILITIES

As a facilitator, you are responsible for:

    • Providing all workshop supplies
    • Arriving early for setup (generally 1 hour)
    • Cleaning up after the workshop
    • Bringing a sample or reference piece
    • Leading and engaging the group throughout the session

This is your space to lead. We expect you to own it

    PARTICIPATION EXPECTATIONS

    • Ideal group size: 15 to 20 participants*
    • Minimum required: 10 participants (generally)

If the minimum is not met, the workshop may be canceled or rescheduled.

*Larger group sizes may be accommodated and considered based on project, venue requirements, and space availability.

    THE WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE

We ask all facilitators to follow a general structure to create a consistent and meaningful experience:

    1. Artist Introduction: Share your story, your work, and your perspective.
    2. Project Overview: Clearly explain what participants will create.
    3. Demonstration: Walk through the process with a sample or example.
    4. Guided Creation: Give participants the space and support to create.
    5. Engagement & Conversation: Use prompts, questions, and interaction to build connection.

This is what transforms a workshop from a task into an experience.

We will provide optional prompts to help guide this.

    SCHEDULING

    Workshops are scheduled on:

    • Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, generally between the hours of 5pm and 9pm

    FINAL NOTE

We are building something intentional here.
