    • NAICS Code: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is a standardized system used to classify businesses based on their economic activities. If you do not know your business' NAICS code, to look-up the six digit code that best matches your business' primary activity either click: NAICS Code Keyword Search , or input a description of your business's products and/or services into an AI chatbot (like Chat GPT or Co-Pilot) and ask it to look up the corresponding NAICS code.

  • Full-time Employee Equivalent's (FTE's) Definition  & Calculation

An FTE is equal to the number of hours a full-time employee works as determined by your business. For example, if a business considers 40 hours per week as full-time, and has 6 part-time employees who each work 10 hours per week, their combined hours add up to 1.5 FTE's. If the owner is also employed full time by the business, the combined total is 2.5 FTE's.

  • Annual Revenue:

Is the business's annual revenue greater than one million dollars?

  • Ownership Demographics

  • The questions in this section are about whether the business is owned or controlled by members of any of the following underrepresented groups:

    • Minority: Asian Pacific, Hispanic, Asian Indian, Black/African, Native American, and Middle East/North African
    • Veteran: discharged, other than dishonorably, from active US military, naval, or air service

A business established pursuant ONLY to a sovereign tribal nation's laws is classified as a Tribal-Established business. Tribal-owned businesses that have been established pursuant to the Laws of the State of Michigan (Registered with the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Corporations' Division (LARA) as an LLC, DBA, or SCORP, etc.) are NOT classified as Tribal-Established, even if they were initially established pursuant only to a sovereign tribal nation's laws.
