Potential responsibilities include:
- Draft Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and/ or Qualifications (RFQs) for public art projects
- Evaluate artist submissions with a keen eye for artistic merit and project feasibility
- Facilitate selection panel discussions
- Manage project timelines and milestones
- Serve as liaison for artist and installer
- Oversee artwork installation, ensuring safety and quality
- Provide expert advice on artwork maintenance and conservation
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in public art project management
- Proven track record of successful public art installations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills
- Understanding of technical aspects of fabrication and installation for various mediums
- Familiarity with public art policies, contracts, and legal considerations
- Helpful: Strong network of local/regional artists, fabricators, and installers
