This International Scholarship Program was established in 2015 for students and postdocs from foreign institutions (e.g. outside USA and Canada) with very limited financial resources who are attending the SDB Annual Meeting. SDB membership is not a requirement, but all other things being equal, preference will be given to SDB members over non-members. Student and postdoc candidates must be first authors of the abstract submitted for the meeting.
Selection criteria for scholarships are based on:
- Scientific soundness of the study as described in the abstract
- Financial need, including availability of other support, e.g. from the advisor and/or home institution
- Letter of recommendation from your advisor submitted online https://form.jotform.com/243406386407155
Each scholarship carries a cash value of $2,000 (USD), to be used to defray meeting expenses. Notifications of scholarships will be the first week of May.
Deadline for online receipt of complete application:
March 12, 2025 (11:59 PM ET).
Incomplete applications will not be reviewed and it is the applicant's responsibility to ensure completeness of the application.
