This International Scholarship Program was established in 2015 for faculty from foreign institutions (e.g. outside USA and Canada) with very limited financial resources who are attending the SDB Annual Meeting. SDB membership is not a requirement, but all other things being equal, preference will be given to SDB members over non-members. Candidates must be an author of an abstract submitted for the meeting. Applicants may be the senior author of an abstract.
Selection criteria are based on:
- Scientific soundness of the study as described in the abstract
- Financial need, including availability of other support, e.g. from home institution.
Each scholarship carries a cash value of $2,000 (USD), to be used to defray meeting expenses. Recipients will be notified by the first week of May.
Deadline for online receipt of complete application:
March 12, 2025 (11:59 PM ET)
Incomplete applications will not be reviewed and it is the applicant's responsibility to ensure completeness of the application.
