Thank you so much for inquiring to volunteer at the Okie Homesteading Expo! Volunteers are a key component in ensuring an enjoyable & successful event for everyone.
VOLUNTEER PERKS: To show our appreciation, all volunteers will receive FREE admission to the Okie Homesteading Expo (Friday & Saturday) and a free Okie Homesteading Expo VOLUNTEER t-shirt!! When you’re not on duty during your shift, feel free to enjoy the educational sessions and explore all that the expo has to offer!
If selected, you will receive notification via email within 10 business days.
THERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE MOVING FORWARD.
-One application per volunteer, meaning each individual volunteer must complete an application.
-Volunteers working at the expo will take one morning or afternoon shift, either on Friday or Saturday. (Unless you’d like to help out more!)
-Must be 18 years old to volunteer.
-Morning shifts could start as early as 6:00 a.m.
-You must be able to stand or walk for up to 5-6 hours.
-Must be able to arrive 15-20 minutes early prior to your shift for a volunteer meeting.
-Each volunteer is required to work a minimum of one shift.
-If you have children attending with you, they must stay with a guardian during your shift.
-Some volunteers will be working indoors, some outdoors, or both.
-If you prefer to work with someone such as a spouse or family member or be on the same shift, please list their name in the notes section below. However, we cannot guarantee you will be paired or work the same shift as that person.
-ALL volunteers must be pre-approved. You may not bring someone to volunteer or work with you during your shift unless pre-approved by Okie Homesteading.
-We cannot guarantee specific work assignments or shifts. Due to expo needs this may not always be possible. Some duties may require you to work alone & some may be paired with someone else.
-Please note that after you select a position, we cannot accommodate changes to your assignment once the schedule is released if you decide you’d like to attend a particular session.
WHAT KIND OF DUTIES DO VOLUNTEERS PERFORM?
Participants are assigned all sorts of tasks ranging from ticket check-in, selling and handling merchandise, parking, traffic directing, or keeping the grounds free of trash, emptying trash, restocking bathrooms, errand runners, vendor check-in, etc. Your participation helps keep the event flowing efficiently and attendees happy, which are all key components of the event.
