  • SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM CRITERIA

    The Planted Palms Ministries has established the Vickie Sherell Clark “Against All Odds” Scholarship for students who have excelled in society despite the challenges of overcoming the odds in their lives. An individual is eligible to apply for this one-time scholarship
    for education-related expenses if he/she meets the established criteria. The scholarship amount will be $300.00. NOTE: If funds are in excess, a student may be eligible for a higher scholarship.


    Eligibility Requirements:


    • Citizen of the United States

    • Currently enrolled in or accepted into an accredited college.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to impacting others or university as a full-time
    • Demonstrate leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or another volunteer activity.
    • GPA Requirement: 2.5 and above


    INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION


    Please complete the application by typing or printing legibly. Only completed and signed applications will be considered. Please submit the following items with this completed application form.


    1. Copy of your most recent transcript of grades from the current or last school attended.
    An official transcript from the school is required by June 17, 2025. The application deadline is May 1, 2025.


    2. One original letter of recommendation from an teacher or counselor who is not related to you, the applicant. The letter should reflect your leadership qualities, abilities, and any special skills. The letter must be in the original form, sealed, and must be signed and addressed to the Scholarship Selection Committee at the address noted below.

    3. There are things in society that people would deem as small when dealing with their battling of the odds in their life; however, these same things have grown to hold significance in the lives of many. The determination to overcome illiteracy are amongst these “small things” for Vickie Sherell Clark. The fight “Against All Odds” in that area caused her to push beyond the “open gates” that held her back through generational illiteracy.
