Obligations of 2025 Grant Recipients:
Funding Contribution: The grant, offering funding up to $150,000, will support up to 50% of project costs through cash contributions and/or in-kind donations of labor and materials. Projects will be evaluated based on their merits and alignment with the mission of the Green Cities Foundation.
Celebratory Activity/Event: Grant recipients are required to organize a celebratory activity or event to showcase their project. This can be part of an existing event or a standalone occasion. Green Cities Foundation will provide guidelines and suggestions for this activity.
Social Media Engagement: Recipients are expected to promote their projects through social media posts, using the designated program hashtag (to be announced) and tagging @gcfoundation and its grant partners.
Application Review and Awarding: Applications will be evaluated based on their alignment with GCF's mission and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Project Completion Timeline: Recipients must complete their projects within the 2025 calendar year. Failure to complete the project within this timeframe may result in the cancellation of the grant funding.
Project Updates and Documentation: Recipients are required to regularly document the progress of their project by providing regular updates with the GCF Project Coordinator, along with photos and videos showcasing key milestones and the overall development of the greenspace.
Final Report: Recipients must complete a detailed final report as a condition for the release of funds. To facilitate this, recipients are expected to keep accurate records of key project metrics, including volunteer participation, the number of plants and shrubs planted, receipts, and other relevant data.
Recognition Signage: Grant recipients will be required to provide signage acknowledging the Green Cities Foundation’s contribution to their project, as well as recognizing our grant partners. Specific details and requirements for the signage will be provided at a later stage.
