This study will explore the behavioral reactions and emotional responses of BSN students, particularly third-year students, toward dark humor memes. The findings aim to contribute to understanding the psychological effects and social dynamics of humor.
Taking part in this research project is voluntary. You do not have to participate, and you can stop at any time. Please take time to read this entire form and ask questions before deciding whether to take part in this research project.
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of dark humor memes on the emotional and cognitive reactions of third-year BSN students. The study findings will provide insights into the psychological and social implications of humor on students.
Participation and Procedures
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey and may be invited for a focus group discussion. Completing the survey will require approximately 20-30 minutes. Follow-up discussions will be scheduled at a time convenient for you.
Confidentiality and Risks
The research instruments will collect personal and confidential information. All data will be anonymized, and no identifying details (such as names or student numbers) will be linked to your responses. Your participation is confidential, and the data will be securely stored and used only for the purposes of this study.
Some participants may find certain humor content sensitive or offensive. You are free to skip any questions or withdraw from the study without explanation. If you experience emotional discomfort, the researchers will provide support, and counseling services will be available.
Benefits
By participating, you will contribute valuable insights into how humor impacts students. While there is no monetary incentive for participation, you will receive a token of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude.
Rights as a Participant
You are free to leave the study at any time without any penalty or loss of benefits. If you decide to withdraw, please inform the researchers. The information collected about you will be retained for analysis unless you request its deletion. If your data has already been included in analysis, it cannot be removed.
The results of this study may be published or presented but will not include any information that would allow others to identify you. Your anonymized data may be used for future research projects.
