Clinical trials are one important way to gather the information needed to prevent and
treat ill-health in babies, children, and young people. Paediatric trials of medicines
need to be adapted to the participants as well as meeting standards for high quality
evidence.
This workshop will give participants experience in scoping a clinical trial protocol in a
small group. The workshop will be preceded by a carefully curated series of short
talks introducing key elements of a paediatric trial of one or more medicine. The
workshop will be followed by the opportunity to each small group to develop their
protocol, leading up to a proposal for funding.
This workshop is a collaboration between ESPGHAN and conet4children Stichting,
the European network for paediatric clinical research.
We invite enthusiastic researchers, including young members, to apply. We are looking for delegates with an idea of a clinical research project who may benefit from experts’ assistance but also for young delegates who may extensively learn from participation in a real-life experience of designing a clinical trial.
Applicants are required to provide a short CV and if applicable, a one pager including a proposed clinical trial design.
