    Grow Your Gift Conservatory of Music’s mission is to continue the legacy of high-quality music performance in our community through educational opportunities for people of any age.

    We are a collaborative community music school in which students of all ages enroll in private or group classes on many instruments. Aside from top-level instruction, we have positioned ourselves in the community to work with several public and private school music programs.

    With a focus on building strong, lasting relationships, the Conservatory’s instructors nurture their students to grow and realize their fullest potential. Instructors uphold the highest teaching standards and act in accordance with Grow Your Gift’s Conservatory of Music policies and procedures.

    Teaching at Grow Your Gift Conservatory of Music is most ideal for those who desire to teach music in a flexible setting. Instructors are contractors and are paid based on the number of hours they teach. We offer instruction in Fort Walton Beach, Navarre, and, Crestview.

  • Basic Qualifications

    Must have music teaching and/or performance and theory experience. The most important qualifications are musical competence and knowledge of your instrument, including a commitment to, and an understanding of the teaching and learning process.

  • Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

    Teach private music lessons in-studio and virtually on specified platforms and required materials

    Train, rehearse, and lead students in school and community music programs

    Preparing lessons concerning individual students’ unique goals and interests

    Maintain student progress and attendance records

    Evaluate student performance and provide feedback and assistance to improve their musical skills

    Assist in arranging performances/events and other programs for students’ families and friends

    Advertising and marketing yourself as an instructor with the support of the Conservatory

    Maintain student behavioral standards to ensure a productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices, and performances

    Ready to do the routine jobs as well as the exciting ones.

  • What To Expect

    Instructors will set their consistent schedule for week-to-week learning. It may take time to develop a full student load and it’s not uncommon for instructors to hold employment elsewhere.

    Once hired, instructors will submit their availability to schedule lessons. This schedule will be posted publicly and should not be changed except in extenuating circumstances.

    Bi-monthly meetings are held on Saturday mornings. All staff members and contractors should attend to learn about upcoming events for your students and the progress of the company.

    Once instructors have thoroughly understood their roles and responsibilities, the position becomes largely autonomous except for occasional observations and feedback.

    Teaching music is where your heart lies. Understanding this, instructors are only responsible for two administrative tasks:

    1. Entering attendance each day for every student on the roster.

    2. Responding to all correspondence via email, phone, and Opus messenger promptly. 

    Compensation

    Contract hourly rates are paid per teaching hour and are based on education level, performance experience, and teaching experience.

    Contract renewals will be based on customer feedback, average student retention, duration with the company, and overall contribution to the Conservatory’s success in accordance with Grow Your Gift Conservatory of Music’s values.
