What To Expect
Instructors will set their consistent schedule for week-to-week learning. It may take time to develop a full student load and it’s not uncommon for instructors to hold employment elsewhere.
Once hired, instructors will submit their availability to schedule lessons. This schedule will be posted publicly and should not be changed except in extenuating circumstances.
Bi-monthly meetings are held on Saturday mornings. All staff members and contractors should attend to learn about upcoming events for your students and the progress of the company.
Once instructors have thoroughly understood their roles and responsibilities, the position becomes largely autonomous except for occasional observations and feedback.
Teaching music is where your heart lies. Understanding this, instructors are only responsible for two administrative tasks:
1. Entering attendance each day for every student on the roster.
2. Responding to all correspondence via email, phone, and Opus messenger promptly.
Compensation
Contract hourly rates are paid per teaching hour and are based on education level, performance experience, and teaching experience.
Contract renewals will be based on customer feedback, average student retention, duration with the company, and overall contribution to the Conservatory’s success in accordance with Grow Your Gift Conservatory of Music’s values.
