11Alive's Help That Harms Viewing
They took their infants to the hospital, hoping to get medical answers to an unexplained injury, only to leave blindsided by abuse allegations. Now, these parents are asking lawmakers to take a close look at state policy to ensure parents can get access to their child's medical records and an independent, second medical opinion. This is why 11Alive News Senior Investigative Reporter Rebecca Lindstrom invites you to a screening and Q&A panel that explores her series, the Help That Harms. It does not focus on guilt nor innocence but rather the roadblocks created by the state that keep potentially innocent parents away from their children, forcing them deep into debt as they fight to reunite.
