What does becoming a Joint Member mean?
A Joint Member is not a guest, Crew Member, or associate member. If approved, you will become a Senior Member under an existing Corporate Membership.
As a Joint Member:
- You become one of up to two Senior Members registered to the Corporate Membership.
- The Corporate Membership continues to have one vote at meetings of the Members. As a Senior Member, you may exercise that vote on behalf of the Corporate Membership, provided only one vote is cast.
- You may attend Member meetings.
- You may serve on the Board of Directors or committees if you are otherwise eligible.
- You are expected to comply with the HYC Articles of Incorporation, By-laws, Policies, Procedures and Rules.
- You share responsibility for maintaining the Corporate Membership in good standing, including meeting all financial and membership obligations.
- You acknowledge that resigning from a shared Corporate Membership follows the procedures outlined in the HYC By-laws, and may require Board approval in certain circumstances.
- Becoming a Joint Member is intended to create a shared Corporate Membership with equal standing between both Senior Members. It is not simply a means of providing another individual with access to the Club.
