An Environmental Science Paid Summer Internship Program

We are thrilled to announce the seventh annual Environmental Discovery Awards Program (EDAP). This internship is designed to enrich the learning experiences of students who are enrolled in or have a demonstrated interest in science and environmental studies and/or programs. EDAP will provide student awardees with high-quality, paid experiential learning internships.
Member organizations of the Science and Environment Council of Southwest Florida, along with other partner organizations, are offering outstanding summer field internship opportunities to students from the five local higher education institutions selected to participate in the 2025 Environmental Discovery Awards Program.
Internship Details
Duration: Up to 10 weeks, from late May through mid-August
Hours: No more than 30 hours per week
Compensation: $18 per hour
STUDENT QUALIFICATIONS
To participate in the EDAP program, students must:
1. Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in Spring 2025 courses at one of the five local higher education institutions: New College of Florida; State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota; The Ringling/FSU; Ringling College of Art + Design; University of South Florida (all campuses).
2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/good academic standing.
3. Substantiation of financial need as a Pell Grant receipient during the 2024 academic year, or to be able to show substantial financial need.
4. Enrollment in science and environmental studies programs or demonstrated
interest in environmental studies.
