The Eastern New England College of Commissioner Science is sponsored by: Cape and Islands, Daniel Webster, Heart of New England, Katahdin Area, Mayflower, Narragansett, Pine Tree, and The Spirit of Adventure Councils.
While primarily focused on the training and education requirements of Commissioners, this program is open to all registered adult leaders of the Boy Scouts of America, who are interested in seeing that our Youth receive a quality program.
Training Courses
Courses are separated into seven areas of study or tracts: Commissioner Basic Training, Bachelors of Commissioner Science, Masters of Commissioner Science, Doctorate of Commissioner Science, Roundtable Commissioner, Older Scouts Programming, and Continuing Education. (See the course catalog for list of courses by area of study).
Participants may register for up to 6 one-hour sessions and will also receive Master’s level credit for attendance at the Keynote address (so potential for up to 7 course credits). The Commissioner Basic Training courses are 3 hours each, so attendees who register for these courses will only be able to receive a maximum of 4 credits (3 sessions plus the Keynote address). Attendance at these courses can lead to Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree of Commissioner Science, or a Postgraduate certificate. (Requirements for the degrees and certificates are listed in the catalog.) To prepare for registering, please review the class schedule and course descriptions in the catalog.
Due to the recent updates in the Commissioner visit process, we are offering a new course, CED-825 Unit Connections Methodology, which will review the changes to Commissioner dashboard in my.scouting.org and the new Unit Contact Process. This course will be offered six times during each class period during the day. The content will be the same for each session, so you only need to register for one of these sessions.
