  • Welcome to the 2026 Women's Resource Center Scholarship Application. This is a eight-part application that requires the uploading of additional required documentation. You may navigate through the application by clicking the tabs above. 

    As you begin filling out your application, you will have the ability to save your responses and come back to your application later. If you chose to save for later, simply click the 'Save' button and look for an email from noreply@jotform.com to be sent to you with a link to your saved application. 

    All applicants must submit their application along with the required documentation no later than midnight on February 27, 2026.

    I. OUR MISSION

    To engage, educate, enrich, and empower women of all generations.

    II. INFORMATION & GUIDELINES

    The Women's Resource Center Inc. (WRC) is a nonprofit organization. The core of our mission is to provide counseling, education, and training that leads to emotional and financial fulfillment. In addition, we offer various education, support, networking, and referral services to the community.

    The purpose of the Women's Resource Center Scholarship program is to recognize, encourage, and reward aspiring students who are pursuing a higher level of education in preparation for employment, self-sufficiency, and advancement in the community.

    III. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    For all applicants:

    1. You identify as a female, 21 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
    2. You must be a year-round resident of Manatee or Sarasota County.
    3. You must be accepted into a qualified program. Eligibility includes vocational, two or four-year institutions pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or certification program.
    4. WRC employees and their family members are not eligible for scholarships.

    For applicants currently enrolled and attending school:

    1. You are required to include a copy of your transcript from the previous semester. You can upload your document within this 2026 WRC Scholarship Application form.
    2. You will be required to establish financial need. Within this form, you will be required to provide information identifying your financial need and any relevant documentation.

    For applicants applying to school:

    1. You are required to submit an official acceptance letter from your educational institution. You can upload this document within this form, the 2026 WRC Scholarship Application form.
    2. You will be required to establish financial need. Within this form, you will be required to provide information identifying your financial need and any relevant documentation.

    IV. APPLICATION PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS

    1. All applicants must submit their application and the required documentation no later than midnight on February 27th, 2026.  
    2. The application must be filled out in its entirety and submitted with the requested documents.
    3. Please include your name and each document's title when uploading your additional documentation. Be sure that your acceptance letters are signed by those writing on your behalf. 
    4. Your accurate completion of the application is required for the Scholarship Review Committee to consider the application. 

    V. DETERMINATION OF AWARDS

    The availability of scholarship funds determines the number of scholarships awarded each year. The WRC Scholarship Committee will review all completed applications and make award recommendations. In some instances, the applicant may be asked to interview. Recipients are selected on an objective and competitive basis considering academic and non-academic factors, plus demonstrated financial need.

    VI. ANNOUNCEMENT & AWARD PAYMENTS

    1. All awarded scholarship funds are submitted directly to the school provided in your application. 
    2. The awarded funds shall be restricted to tuition and books only for the school year listed in the application. 
    3. If a recipient does not attend school during the academic term for which the scholarship is intended, the award funds will be returned to the WRC and forfeited by the scholarship recipient. If it is discovered later that the money was not used as intended and was not returned as outlined, you will forfeit your right to reapply in the future.

    VII. SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL

    Recipients must reapply each year for consideration of the renewal of scholarship funds. Applications will be available for submission on our website, mywrc.org/about/scholarship, from January 26, 2026, through midnight on February 27, 2026.

    Include your short-term education goals (one year), long-term education and employment goals (five years), and what you have already completed toward achieving these goals.

  • VI. Renewable Scholarship

  • The Women's Resource Center offers renewable scholarships annually. A renewable scholarship is one that automatically renews the following year, guaranteeing another scholarship award in 2027.

    To qualify for a renewable scholarship you must meet the following criteria at the time of renewal: 

    1. Maintain a 3.0 GPA or passing grade for a certificate program.
    2. Participate in the Supported Scholar program and actively engage with an advocate for a minimum of four sessions.  

    Renewable scholarships are contingent on the availability of scholarship funds.

    I understand that the personal information I share will be held in the strictest confidence, except for such information which would violate the Florida Reporting Laws concerning child and elder abuse. I understand that the Women's Resource Center (WRC) is a grant-supported organization and that Manatee or Sarasota County may request access to any or all records for the purpose of evaluating or monitoring the program or delivery of service, and that I consent to the release of records for these purposes.

    I also hereby give permission for WRC to obtain and/or disclose my information or records that may be needed for monitoring and follow-up purposes with partner organizations such as CareerSource Suncoast. I understand that I may revoke this consent at any time by providing a written statement indicating that my consent to the release of information is no longer given.

    I certify the information I have provided is correct to the best of my knowledge. I understand that the services I receive at WRC are provided by volunteers and/or dedicated staff members and are intended for supportive information and referral only. I agree that I am solely responsible for, and hold harmless, the WRC from any decisions I make as a result of any counseling waiver in its entirety, and I have signed it freely and voluntarily.

    In addition, I acknowledge that:
