FAQs

Do I have to keep office hours or go to an office?
Absolutely not! You determine when you work. While visiting a relative or friends, on vacation or traveling, wherever you happen to be when someone tells you they would like to buy or sell real property, let them know you have contacts throughout the industry. Be sure to register your referral by submitting the form with CB Crown Relocation!

What type of properties can I refer?
You can refer any marketable real property anywhere in the United States and Canada! Connect with your Managing Director and we'll help you navigate the process.

Is there a limit to how much I can make as an active member?
There's no limit ever! At year-end, you will receive a 1099 to report your earnings. As your earnings grow, you may want to consider paying quarterly estimated taxes--as advised by your tax accounting advisor.

Referral Agreement

In consideration hereof, the parties mutually agree as follows:

Duties of Salesperson:

• To refer exclusively ONLY to the corporate office of Coldwell Banker Crown Realtors, all leads for the purchase, sale, or rental of real estate.
• No referrals will be given directly to Coldwell Banker Crown Realtors agents. Referrals will ONLY be placed through the posted CRN Referral Forms.
• Refrain from ALL real estate activity including listing, showing, managing, leasing, or any other act as a salesperson as identified by licensee state law.
• Keep salesperson's license in effect, paying all license fees and processes.
• Complete all Continuing Education as required through any school owned by CB Crown or affiliated service providers. 
• Refrain from ALL real estate activity with the client. Never offer advice or opinions to the client that was referred.

Duties of Broker:

• Hold the Salesperson license as Principal Broker.
• Keep accurate records of the disposition of leads and accounting of fees.
• Provide a forum for agents to place referrals and respond to placed referrals within 24 hours.Referrals will ONLY be placed through the posted CRN Referral Forms.
• The salesperson may request a particular agent on the form. The receiving agent must agree to the referral fees.
• The salesperson will not discuss a referral with any other agent before accepting a referral from CB Crown.

Compensation Schedule:

• For ACTIVE Licensees
  • If referred to CBCR: Pay the salesperson 80% of any referral fee collected.
  • If referred to another brokerage: Pay the salesperson 70% of any referral fee collected.
• For INACTIVE & EXPIRED Licensees
  • Allow the agent 30 days from closing to reactivate their license. If the agent reactivates their license, we will pay as noted above. If the agent does not reactivate their license, a donation in the refferal amount will be made to an non-profit organization in the referring salesperson's name. No direct compensation will be made to the referring salesperson.

Relationships & Taxes:

• The relationship of Crown Companies DBA Crown Referral Network is that of an independent contractor status with the salesperson. Crown Companies LLC will issue a 1099 each year if income has been earned.
• It's the salesperson's job to report their personal earnings to the IRS.

All questions for rules, referral placement, acceptable real estate activities, referral amounts, fees, and more should be sent to your Managing Director.
