On Wednesday, December 11, the Indiana State Board of Education (SBOE) passed the final diploma rule, adopting new high school graduation requirements which will go into effect for all Indiana students during the 2028-2029 school year. State law required the adoption of these new requirements by Tuesday, December 31.
Significant input from and collaboration with educators, students, parents/families, business and industry leaders, community members, and other stakeholders has been essential to the rulemaking process and will continue to be important throughout implementation.
