To ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors, Living Grace Canine Ranch requires a background check (details below):
- Needed for volunteers ages 18 and over
- Cost to you: $20.50
- Background check goes back seven years and checks Criminal history, Social Security Number (SSN) trace, and Sex offender registry.
Your information is secure and will not be shared with anyone.

We cannot move forward with getting you on board as a volunteer until the background check is complete.

2nd PART - FILL IN VOLUNTEER INFORMATION FORM

1 - For volunteers 14-17 years old, this volunteer form must be signed by the minor volunteer's parent or legal guardian who is 18 or older.

2 - If volunteer is 14-16 years old, the parent/legal guardian must submit their own SEPARATE volunteer application (including background check by and volunteer information form). Not needed for 17 year-old volunteers.

3 - If volunteer is 14-16 years old, the parent/legal guardian must accompany the 14-16 year old volunteer at all times during the minor's volunteer time. Not needed for 17 year-old volunteers.

**Two training sessions are required for volunteers [Cuddlers and Walkers] who interact with Ranch Residents (canines), both of which must be completed before volunteering. A commitment of 6+ hours per month or 2 hours a week is requested of Cuddler and Walker volunteers.

VOLUNTEER ACCIDENT WAIVER & RELEASE OF LIABIILTY

In consideration of being permitted by Living Grace Canine Ranch to participate as a volunteer in various activities such as handling live animals, volunteering at events, or representing LGCR in any capacity, I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims and damages for personal injury, death, or property damage which I may sustain or may which hereafter accrue as a result of my participation as a volunteer and resulting from negligence or misconduct of Living Grace Canine Ranch.

This release is intended to discharge in advance, Living Grace Canine Ranch, its’ Directors, Officers, Volunteers, Servants, and/or agents to include their heirs, agents, representatives, successors and assignees from and against any and all liabilities, actions, claims, demands, costs, or expenses arising from or in any way connected with my participation as a volunteer and resulting from the negligence or misconduct of Living Grace Canine Ranch.

I understand that various activities involving dogs can be hazardous in nature involving the possibility of being bitten, scratched, jumped on, dragged or knocked over. The possibility of serious accidents and/or injury can occur during participation in volunteer activities. Knowing the risks involved nevertheless, I have voluntarily applied to participate in volunteer activities and I hereby agree to assume all risks of injury, and to release and hold harmless, Living Grace Canine Ranch, its’ Directors, Officers, Volunteers, Servants, and/or agents who, through negligence or carelessness, might otherwise be liable to me. I further agree to indemnify and to hold Living Grace Canine Ranch, its’ Directors, Officers, Volunteers, Servants, and/or agents free and harmless from any loss, liability, damage, cost or expense which they may incur as a result of any injury and/or property damage I may sustain while participating as a volunteer.

On behalf of myself, personal representatives, and executors, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Living Grace Canine Ranch, its agents, servants, volunteers, and employees from any and all claims, causes of action, or demands, of any nature or cause, including all claims arising out of the negligence of Living Grace Canine Ranch and any persons for whose actions Living Grace Canine Ranch may be held liable, and including attorney fees incurred or sustained by me in any connected with my services for Living Grace Canine Ranch, including but not limited to animal bites, accidents, injuries, or death. I understand that dogs can be unpredictable and can bite/attack at any time. I will use full caution in my actions and understand I am fully responsible for anything that happens to me while volunteering at Living Grace Canine Ranch.

I agree that all services I provide are charitable in nature and entirely voluntary, and there will be no compensation of any kind for the performance thereof. Further I have been fully advised that as a non-employee I am not covered by worker’s compensation and am not covered under any medical insurance plan associated with my volunteer position with Living Grace Canine Ranch.
