About Arts After Dark
MAC and the City of Greenville, invite local artists to participate in ARTS AFTER DARK at Downtown Alive. This opportunity remains completely free to Greenville artists! ARTS AFTER DARK will take place once a month, on the Third Thursday of each DTA month (March - August).
Each ARTS AFTER DARK will feature a row of 6 tents that will showcase 12 artists/arts organizations (two artists per tent) to sell their products, and if they choose, provide demos/workshops for visitors.
Event Guidelines
The city provides one 6-foot table and two chairs for each 10x10 tent. Display panels and easels are the responsibility of the artist but all display items must fit within the tent space. Artists may sell art, provide demonstrations, but any food or beverages sales is strictly prohibited. *No alcohol consumption in the tents* Electricity and wireless service will be available. If your demonstration requires open flame, you must indicate that in your application, so we can properly schedule it with the fire marshall.
Downtown Alive 2025 runs from 5:30pm until 8:30pm, March 6 through August 28. Artwork set-up must be completed between 4:00pm and 5:00pm. Vehicles are allowed on-site to unload only and must be moved and reparked until after official Downtown Alive closing time (8:30pm).
Participating artists must be based in Greenville County. Tent assignments will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis (2 artists per tent). Artists new to Arts After Dark (or new to MAC) must provide a digital portfolio of work, 3-5 images.
There is no deadline for the application, and sign-ups are first come, first served. If you have been selected to participate, a one-week notice is required if you are unable to attend a committed Thursday evening. If DTA is cancelled due to inclement weather, MAC will do its best to reschedule you, but rescheduling is not guaranteed.
