  • The AAHP Capability Framework identifies 3 key pillars of Health Planning:

    • System Planning – Centered on population health outcomes, system planning emphasizes effective strategies, multi-sector collaboration, and evidence-based approaches to deliver equitable healthcare.
    • Service Planning – Driven by research, data analysis, and geographic factors, service planning identifies needs, eliminates inefficiencies, and fosters collaboration within a safe and effective health system.
    • Facility Planning – Focused on functionality, operational efficiency, departmental relationships, and infection control, facility planning ensures infrastructure is sustainable, adaptable, safe, and accessible.

    The minimum prerequisite for AAHP membership is undergraduate qualification, or the progression towards qualifications, which directly relates to one of the following:

    • Healthcare system and service planning
    • Clinical and Allied Health disciplines
    • Health Administration / Management

    Demonstrated equivalent working experience will be considered by the Membership Committee.

    The Health Planner has a number of key attributes which enable them to contribute to the development of resilient and sustainable health systems, service, and infrastructure/facilities.
  • The list of attributes identified in the questions below are not conclusive but indicative of the wide range of attributes which all health planning professionals would be expected to demonstrate at some level. We are interested in understanding areas where the AAHP may support continued professional development (CPD) based on the needs of our members so please indicate areas where you would be interested in extending your level of expertise.

    The establishment of the AAHP provides an opportunity to advocate for qualified health planning, promote professional development, and provide recognition for health planning professionals in Australia and New Zealand.

      AAHP Entrance Fee ($150.00)+ Annual Membership Fee ($37.50)

      All new members will be requested to pay both the Entrance Fee and Annual Membership Fee on application. 

      The Entrance Feee ($150) is a single once only payment.

      The Annual Membership Fee will be calculated at time of application on a pro-rata basis. ($12.50 per month) All existing members will be invoiced at beginning of each new financial year for the full annual membership period.
