    Senior staff will undergo a two-tier interview process. Applicants will be contacted for a virtual group interview after receipt of application. After the group interview, applicants will be notified whether they have moved onto the second stage, a one-on-one interview with a full-time Coldstream staff member.

    You will be contacted via email to schedule an interview time. Failure to schedule an interview time within two weeks will result in termination of your application.

    Final decisions on staffing will be made via email.

    Staff Training will help selected staff prepare for their ministry and service at CCC.  All training will take place at Coldstream Christian Camp.  All meals and board will be provided. Please mark your calendar. Training is required and will take place June 12-June 15th.

    Senior staff report to training at 2 pm on June 13th.

    Junior staff report at 10 am on June 14th.

    STIPENDS & REIMBURSEMENTS

    Senior staff receive a $200 stipend each week worked, in addition to room and board. Staff may stay on campus over the weekend if home is a significant distance away. A $100 bonus is awarded to staff who work all four weeks. Transportation cost reimbursement may be arranged depending on the distance traveled; there there is a cap on the amount we are able to reimburse annually for all staff.

    Bonuses are available for staff based on amount of years worked. Your interviewer will provide more information during your individual interview.

    Senior staff who work all four weeks are invited to prepare and present a teaching seminar on a pre-assigned topic to campers or to junior staff for an additional $100 bonus. The teaching and curriculum intern has the final say in teaching seminars and who will lead them.

  • In 2025, housing on campus over the weekends will be invite-only due to limited capacity. If you would like to be considered for on-campus housing over the weekends, please indicate the amount of miles you live from Coldstream.

  • In the event that an unforeseen circumstance arises affecting my participation at training or camp, I understand that it is my responsibility to notify the Summer Programs Director immediately. Conflicts in attending training or camp could adversely affect my role in serving at CCC.

    Individuals who complete the interview process, are accepted, and then fail to fulfill their obligations for reasons other than personal or family emergencies will be unable to apply for 1 year after initial application.

  • Job Description

  • WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SENIOR STAFF AT COLDSTREAM?

    The backbone of our camp ministry, senior staff are charged with forming relationships with their campers and creating an atmosphere conducive to rest and growth. Each senior counselor receives a weekly stipend and is required to spend at least two weeks in their role on campus in addition to training. Senior counselors must be at least 18 years old and have completed high school. All senior counselors must be able to travel to Coldstream for required dates.

    Our Senior Counselors Are...

    Leaders
    Senior counselors work in teams of 2-4 counselors per cabin, providing spiritual leadership, a safe, fun environment, and room for campers to grow and try new things. The senior counselor position also entails significant involvement in creating the daily schedule, teaching Bible seminars, and leading electives. Senior counselors set the standard for all other staff and work closely with the leadership team to make each week of camp fun, safe, and educational. All of our senior staff also undergo training in CPR and First Aid certification during training.

    Relational
    Each counselor works with a cabin of 6-12 campers, making relational growth their first priority. Counselors spend all their time with their campers- meals, devotions, games, and chapel! Counselors are encouraged to pour in to their campers and show them the love of Christ as tangibly as possible: through service, words of affirmation, and quality time. Many campers return year after year simply to continue the relationship with their special counselor!

    Teachers & Students

    All of our senior counselors serve as teachers to the campers they serve, either through the act of physically teaching the Word in large or small group settings or by setting an example in word and deed. Applicants should be comfortable discussing a range of topics with different age groups, from cultural issues to their personal religious beliefs. While staff are not expected to have all the answers, they are expected to listen, to learn, and to ask questions themselves where appropriate. We are all students!

    Gospel-Minded
    Above all, senior counselors commit themselves wholeheartedly to the transformational Gospel of Christ, and should expect to be changed just as much as the campers they serve. "But whoever would be great among you must be your servant and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:27-28).

    3. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • Community Standards Agreement

    Read and sign to indicate agreement with all points.
  • Each Staff member (either volunteer and paid) will be expected to uphold this Community Standards Agreement. The goal of life at Coldstream is to live, work, serve, and worship together as a community centered on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is intended that this agreement would be understood as a grace-filled standard for life together, and serve as a means of encouraging godly living, with integrity and with honor for one another as we grow as a community.

    The purposes of this agreement are:

    • To affirm our identity as a Christ-centered institution centered on biblical principles and a  devotion to Jesus Christ;
    • To affirm the integrity of our mission statement;
    • To affirm our unity as a camp community with shared values and a shared framework of grace and faith.

    As followers of Jesus Christ and recipients of His grace, we live out our faith on a daily basis. As broken persons, we acknowledge that we will do this imperfectly. As a community that values both individual and corporate maturity, we commit to that which will produce godly growth. In light of this, we commit to the following:

    • Show evidence of the Holy Spirit who lives within all believers, such as “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control;”
    • Seek righteousness, mercy, and justice;
    • Love and side with what is good in God’s eyes, and abhor what is evil in God’s eyes;
    • Uphold the God-given worth of every human being, from conception to death, as unique image-bearers of God;
    • Pursue unity and embrace ethnic and racial diversity as part of God’s design for humanity and practice reconciliation as one of His redemptive purposes in Christ;
    • Affirm chastity among the unmarried and the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman;
    • Be people of integrity whose word can be trusted;
    • Give faithful witness to the Gospel, practice good works toward all and live lives of prayer and thanksgiving.
    • To maintain fellowship with and attendance in a local church

    By contrast, even though God forgives people through his grace, we acknowledge that the Bible condemns certain behaviors, and we commit to avoid the following:

    • Pride

    • Immodesty in dress or behavior

    • Slander, gossip, vulgar language, blasphemy

    • Greed, covetousness, theft, and the taking of innocent life;

    • Self-righteousness, and legalism, understood as the imposition of extra-biblical standards of godliness by one person or group upon another;

    • Sinful attitudes and behaviors, such as impurity and debauchery;

    • Idolatry and witchcraft;

    • Hatred, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, envy

    • Drunkenness;

    • Sexual immorality, including the use of pornography and all other sexual behaviors the Bible reveals to be contrary to God’s loving design for humanity.

    I have read and will abide by this Community Standards Agreement. I understand the expectations asked of me and will fulfill them to the best of my ability. I understand that if the Coldstream Christian Camp Staff deems that I am unable to fulfill these responsibilities to the required standard, it may result in removal from my service at Coldstream.

  • Application Fee + Submission

    To discourage misallocation of labor and resources, a $15 application fee will be charged for each senior staff application. This fee is meant to ensure that individuals in the process of consideration for a position at Coldstream will commit wholly to the position and not withdraw at the last minute. This fee also covers the cost of the background check, which is performed during the hiring process. Historically, Coldstream interviews, checks, and hires 3-5 senior staff each year who fail to fulfill their commitment, resulting in losses to the camp. This $15 fee will be refunded to you in your first paycheck OR if you are not selected for the position. Failure to work your specified weeks will result in forfeiture of the fee. By submitting this application, you acknowledge that failure to work the weeks you are hired for will result in forfeiture of the fee. You will not be interviewed until this fee is paid. In addition, individuals who complete the interview process, are accepted, and then fail to fulfill their obligations for reasons other than personal or family emergencies will be unable to apply for 1 year after initial application.
