Muskoka Arts & Crafts – Championing Our Arts Community

2025 has been a year of growth and success for Muskoka Arts & Crafts (MA&C). Since launching the MA&C Maker Shop, we are proud to share that in just the first 8 months, the Shop has generated over $25,000 in revenue, directly supporting our artists and makers. All of MA&C's commission structure is based on 30%(outside of any special exhibitions of partnerships).

As a not-for-profit service organization, MA&C is dedicated to ensuring the success of our arts community. Our mission is to champion craft as a valuable part of everyday life by promoting, celebrating, and advocating for art and craft practices. We provide opportunities for members to showcase their work, offer mentorship and feedback, and create meaningful connections between artists and the public.

The MA&C Maker Shop plays a vital role in this mission by:

Generating sales for artists and makers providing career mentorship and product feedback offering public education opportunities Showcasing a wide range of practices, from contemporary to traditional, and supporting both emerging and established artists each year, MA&C also hosts two seasonal open call opportunities where members can apply to sell and exhibit their work. These calls ensure fresh, diverse, and high-quality offerings for our audiences, while giving artists valuable exposure and professional development.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTS

1. Only Active Artist & Maker MA&C Members may apply.
2 All work must be original, handmade, and reflect the maker’s own ideas.
3.Submitted work should be produced within the last 1–2 years and reflect the  applicant's current practice.
4. Objects must be well-made, durable, and functional for their intended purpose.
5. Cards and prints are welcome, but must be high-quality.
6. Work may be presented on a rotational/seasonal basis, with Shop staff determining  the length of representation based on sales, venue needs, and market suitability.
7. High-quality photos with bright lighting and a white background are required for promotional use on social media and our Shopify site.

 

Member Directory Application

Artist & Maker Members will be able to apply for a small retail shelf at MA&C on Main.

MAC Commission is 30% of the total price.

CONSIGNMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

1) Applicants must have an active MA&C Artist & Maker Membership.

2) Upon sale of any item, MA&C shall pay the member 70% of the retail price. Payments will be issued every month end if $100 in sales has been hit. 

3) MA&C is not able to insure the work on site. MA&C's insurance coverage only covers the building and people. If insurance is required please coordinate with MA&C Executive Director. Please note by signing this application you are waiving insurance against damage or theft. 

4) Consigned work will be delivered to MA&C on MAIN and picked up from MA&C on MAIN by the member, unless otherwise arranged and agreed on by both parties.

5) The member will be responsible for insuring work during shipping and delivery. 

 

6) HST will be paid to members who provide their HST identification #. Please share your HST number.
