The Beef + Lamb New Zealand, (B+LNZ), Generation Next Programme started in the Southern South Island in 2016 and has been developed over the past 9 years to become a highly sort after programme for career development and knowledge pathways in the sheep and beef sector. By the end of the programme you will -
- Understand the farm business – financial basics and management.
- Develop better decision-making skills from genetics to personal goals.
- Learn new technologies and ideas to take back on to farm.
- Develop good team culture within the workplace.
- Understand the overall industry goals and aims.
The B+LNZ Generation Next Programme is for farmers, therefore you must be activitely working on farm to be considered for this programme.
We recommened at least two years farm work experience to get the most out of the programme.
Though there is no specified age, this programme is best suited to ages 18 - 40.
The six regions for B+LNZ Generation Next programme are:
- Mid Northern North Island
- Eastern North Island
- Western North Island
- Northern South Island
- Central South Island
- Southern South Island
There are 3 modules and a webinar, you must commit to completing the whole programme. See this page for the programme dates.
- Module one - 1.5 days
- Module two - 2 days
- Module three - 1 day, graduation at the completion of this day
- Webinar - 2 hours, (evening)
Upon completion of the B+LNZ Generation Next programme you will be invited to join B+LNZ Generation Next Alumi, an active network of Generation Next graduates.
