• Health & Safety Venue Checklist

    For specific sessions this form should be completed prior to doors open of each session. For venues that are generally open throughout the day this form should be completed at least daily.

    Good housekeeping can often mitigate most common hazards, perform a visual inspection of your venue, is it safe? Are there any new hazards that haven't previously been identified and mitigated against?
  • Venue checked for hazards and setup in accordance with risk assessment*

  • Fire

    A physical test of all fire exits should be carried out prior to public occupancy
  • All exits open and clear of obstructions*
  • Fire extinguishers in position*
  • Are any additional displays/materials being used that have not identified through the venue risk assessment*
  • Waste

    If you need any assistance with waste management for your venue, or the location of overflow skips please speak to the site management team
  • Waste bins in place and emptied before opening*
  • Clinical waste (nappies etc.)bagged and in special waste containers*
  • Catering

  • Catering areas segregated from other activities*
  • Areas clean, tidy and ready for use*
  • First Aid

  • First aid box available and appropriately stocked*
  • Electrical

    Remember to check any equipment that may have been brought into the venue since initial setup, ensure provisions are in place to manage personal devices in your venue and limit access to power sources to unauthorised persons.

  • Noise

  • Noise/sound levels will be assessed by venue health & safety team but where sound systems monitor noise levels, must be kept below 95db*
  • PA Speakers positioned or areas around PA speakers cordoned off to ensure no-one standing/sitting within 1 metre of a PA speaker*
  • Signs to warn of expected noise levels in position where necessary*
  • Stewarding & Crowd Management

  • Seating as per planned layout, aisles maintained and sufficient access available to venue exits*
  • Provisions in place for disabled access*
  • Adequate number of team/stewards on duty*
