FIREWORKS 2025

With its fluidity and transformative power, water offers endless inspiration for artistic expression. We invite clay and glass artists to explore this theme, celebrating water's beauty, movement, and impact through their work.
Deadline for submissions: Monday, April 28, 2025 at 5 p.m.
FUSION invites members to exhibit their work in a travelling exhibition which will be displayed in different locations throughout Ontario. The exhibition will also appear online at www.clayandglass.on.ca.
Fireworks is scheduled for the following locations in 2025:
1. The Great Lakes Museum, Kingston, ON from May 30- July 7, 2025
Opening reception on Friday, May 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Great Lakes Museum
2. Gagne Contemporary, Toronto, ON from August 13 - September 15, 2025
3. The Carnegie Gallery, Dundas, ON from October 3 - November 9, 2025
Closing reception on Sunday, November 9 from 1-4 p.m.

COST OF ENTRY
Only works submitted with approved payment will be juried. Payment can be made safely online through this form.
$50 (plus HST) for one entry
$60 (plus HST) for two entries
$70 (plus HST) for three entries
As Fireworks is a travelling exhibition, works submitted should be suitable for travelling to multiple venues and unpacked and re-packed by gallery attendants. Please note that complex installation work or extremely fragile pieces are not ideal for this type of show, including wall-mounted work.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Fireworks is open to all members in good standing of FUSION: The Ontario Clay and Glass Association. Membership must be maintained for the duration of the Fireworks Exhibition.
2. Works submitted must be of original design.
3. Works submitted must have been executed after January 2023.
4. Works submitted must not have been previously exhibited.
5. Works created collaboratively will be regarded as one entry and considered only if all artists involved are members of FUSION.
6. Only work in which clay or glass is the major component will be considered.
7. Sets of multiples, such as a place setting or a sculptural grouping will be considered as one work submitted and must be priced as a single set (one price for the entire set).
8. The artist must provide all supports, hanging devices, and clear instructions for installation for any submission selected. Work must be in clearly labelled reusable packaging that can be opened and repacked as the show travels. Please ensure work is well packed and a photo of your work is on the outside of the box.
9. COPYRIGHT: The submission of any entry permits FUSION or any participating gallery to reproduce and use any image submitted for publicity, documentary or archival purposes, including use in FUSION publications, including but not limited to catalogue, website and social media.
10. LIMIT OF LIABILITY: FUSION is not responsible for any damage or loss arising from the transportation, set-up display and storage of works submitted. Artists assume all responsibility for loss and damage and are advised to arrange for any insurance to cover loss or damage that they might require.
11. PRICING AND SALES: Work must be priced to reflect current market value. For works sold, FUSION will take a commission of 40% of the retail sale price and the artist will receive 60% of the retail sale price at the end of the tour after payment is received from the purchaser. The artist will arrange for the shipping of sold works to purchasers. If the work is not for sale the current market price is still required.
12. The selection made by the jurors shall be final.
13. The artist may not withdraw a work from the exhibition once it has been juried and is in the show. Works may not be removed prior to the completion of the full touring schedule.
14. Works submitted must be the works shown in the photographs. FUSION reserves the right to reject any work submitted that is different from that portrayed in the images submitted. All works are subject to inspection upon arrival for breakage or technical flaws (e.g.: In the case of functional works, cracked works will be rejected.)
15. SIZE RESTRICTION: Packaged work must fit through a 30-inch door opening.
16. WEIGHT RESTRICTION: Works must weigh no more than 60 pounds including packing.
17. Artists are responsible for retrieval of work at the end of the exhibition within 30 days.
IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS and LABELLING
1. Submit digital images with a maximum resolution of 2 MB. FUSION will only accept images in JPEG digital format with no compression.
2. Photograph work against a neutral background, i.e., no textured backgrounds.
3. Please use your first and last name and the number of your entry from 1-3 if submitting more than one work.
