Raise Your Voice Auditions!
🎭 Calling Experienced Young Performers! 🎭
We are so excited you are auditioning for Tree County Musical Showcase! Please take time to fill out this entire form!
We’re looking for talented young actors to bring MTI’s Raise Your Voice to life! If you have stage experience, strong memorization skills, and confidence performing in front of an audience, we encourage you to audition.
Performers with prior stage, music, and dance experience will be given first consideration, as this production requires commitment, professionalism, and comfort on stage.
Performances:
Our shows are Thursday, June 12th, Friday, June 13th, Saturday, June 14th (all at 7:00 PM), & Sunday, June 15th at 2 PM. Your child will need to be at the TCP Playhouse at 5 PM for 7 PM shows and 12 PM for the 2 PM show.
Audition Information:
Auditions will be at the TCP Playhouse on Friday, April 4th from 5 to 7:30 PM and Saturday, April 5th from 9:30 to 1 PM. We suggest you find a few examples of the show or songs on Youtube to help you prepare.
Parts / Lines:
After auditions, we will be calling all families to let them know of our casting decisions. Cast members will receive scripts at the first practice / full cast read-through. Lines/songs must be memorized by MAY 12th. Songs will be shared with cast members electronically as well to practice at home.
Costumes:
Every student will need a costume, even if that student is not a character with lines. When the musical is cast, and once practices start, we will send information with costuming items (most of which you will already have at home or can be found at Goodwill or Walmart). Anything you purchase or bring in will go back home with your child after the show. If you need any help acquiring items, we will get them for your child. We don’t want to put anyone in financial hardship to find a costume.
For Raise your Voice, your child will need to have a nice all-black outfit that they can move and dance comfortably in as well as colored sneakers. These can be any kid but preferably in the sneaker, converse style. Students need to bring their costumes in for approval the week of May 19th. Additional pieces and accessories will be added based on the scene.
Behavior Expectations:
Performers who are cast in our musical are expected to be active listeners, committed to memorizing and performing their part well, be helpful to others, and always be respectful to directors and other cast members. If there are behavior issues, parents and guardians will be contacted. If behavior issues persist, the performer may be asked to leave the cast.
Cost:
Your child will have the opportunity to purchase a cast shirt for $10-$15. Also, it is highly encouraged to support our organization by purchasing a membership for Tree County Players ($20) or becoming a Tree County Players benefactor ($60+). Our organization is supported by members as we do not charge our performers to be a part of the show. We use membership money to pay for the fixed costs of running our organization like utilities, insurance, building maintenance and repairs, business/janitorial expenses, and office expenses. You can become a member through our website at www.treecountyplayers.com.
Questions/Information:
For information and practice reminders, we will have a REMIND group. It is an easy way to send text reminders to families without having a big group text. Other users will NOT see your phone number, and it is a way for you to reply directly to me if you ever have a question or need anything. At the first rehearsal, I will send the code home with your child so that you can join and receive the texts and information.
In the meantime, with auditon questions, please contact Morgan Straber - mmkramer@me.com or Amy Borns at amyborns21@gmail.com.
