This year’s theme, Nonprofits Built for Success through Access, Momentum, and Mobility, aligns with CSM’s 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, “Built for Success.” The new strategic plan for the Nonprofit Institute will be unveiled at this year’s conference.
We’re dedicated to ensuring that our conference content is relevant and timely. With this in mind, we are currently accepting submissions for breakout session presentations. We are looking for presentations that fit within the theme and the following topics:

- Mobility
- Momentum
- Sustainability
- Resilience/Wellness
About Us
The Nonprofit Institute at CSM serves as the premier source of nonprofit professional development and capacity-building for the diverse array of nonprofits serving the Southern Maryland region.
Audience Reach
Attendance at the annual conference includes employees, board members, and volunteers from the three Southern Maryland counties of St. Mary’s, Charles, and Calvert. We typically engage approximately 125-150 attendees who bring a variety of skill levels and backgrounds to their work with nonprofits. From seasoned executive directors to board members, to people seeking resources to start a nonprofit, and everyone in between and beyond, the Nonprofit Institute focuses on assisting these individuals and organizations throughout Southern Maryland.

Additional information
The conference will be held at the College of Southern Maryland’s La Plata campus, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata, Md., 20646. Confirmed speakers will not be compensated for their conference participation. Speakers will be granted free conference registration and are welcome to attend sessions during the conference. Breakout sessions are 1:15 in length. Speakers can access a laptop, wi-fi, and a large presentation screen. Speakers will be expected to present in an educational, non-commercial manner.
